Chairman, Vistara

Bhaskar Bhat became the Chairman of Vistara, the joint venture between Tata and Singapore Airlines in January 2016.

Prior, he was the managing director of Titan Company Limited from 2002.

Vistara, the third full service carrier after Air India and Jet Airways, launched its operations on January 9, 2016 and now operates 307 weekly flights to 12 destinations with a fleet of nine Airbus A320s.

“My focus will be ensuring that Vistara continues to deliver the legendary service excellence and hospitality that the Tata group and SIA are known for,”said Bhat.

A B.Tech (Mechanical Engineering) graduate from IIT - Madras, with a postgraduate diploma in Management from IIM–Ahmedabad,India,most of Bhaskar's working experience has been in sales and marketing. He started his career as a management trainee with Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Co. in 1983.

He moved on after five years and joined the Tata Watch Project (initiated at Tata Press Ltd.)
