Turhan Özen is the Chief Cargo Officer of Turkish Airlines, the national carrier of Türkiye, in charge of its cargo and logistics business, Turkish Cargo.
Özen has over 30 years of rich experience in the aviation, logistics, and air cargo industries. He joined Turkish Cargo in 2016.
Under his leadership, Turkish Cargo has grown to be one of the world’s leading air cargo carriers. With its own fleet of freighters, the company offers direct flights to 120 destinations worldwide. Additionally, it has access to Turkish Airlines’ fleet of 415 planes serving more than 340 destinations globally.
SMARTIST, the mega hub of Turkish Cargo and the global logistics center at Istanbul Airport, will have a cargo sorting capacity of 4 million tons annually upon the completion of the airport’s Phase 2, covering a total area of 340,000 square meters. Özen has a Business Administration degree from the Boğaziçi University. He took his Executive MBA at Koç University.
