Rahul Bhatia is the Group Managing Director for InterGlobe Enterprises. He laid the foundation for the enterprise in 1989 with its flagship business of air trnspor t management.

He has led the development of a number of new businesses in the travel domain and continues to oversee recent diversification into aviation and hospitality.

He briefly worked for IBM. He returned home to join father’s airline agency business, forming InterGlobe in 1989.

IndiGo airlines was established in 2006 by Rahul Bhatia and Rakesh Gangwal, each owning 50 percent of InterGlobe Aviation, the company that runs IndiGo. Rahul is the man in charge of operations.

With a net worth of $3.6 billion, Rahul is the 38th richest Indian.

Rahul holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada.
