Tulsi Nowlakha Mirchandaney is the Managing Director and Accountable Manager for Blue Dart Aviation, India’s first and only scheduled domestic cargo airline, with a fleet of six Boeing 757 freighters. Tulsi’s responsibility spans the organization’s flight and ground operations, in-house security, airframe line and heavy maintenance, and ground handling activities, with a workforce of over 1200 committed professionals. During Tulsi’s tenure, Blue Dart Aviation, the only cargo airline that has sustained its operations in India for the past 25 years, expanded its capacity with the phase-out of the classic B737-200 freighters, replacing them with the more fuel-efficient B757 freighters. Tulsi has been instrumental in expanding the company’s dedicated infrastructure across airports and bringing about policy changes in civil aviation to include the significant role of air express and support the distinctive requirements for the sustainability of the cargo airline industry in the country.
