The mission of the company is to provide industry leading aircraft maintenance and engineering solutions ranging from heavy maintenance and complex modifications to connectivity and component services on all major Airbus and Boeing aircraft types including the A380 and 787 Dreamliner, and more recently, the A350. Etihad Engineering has state-of- the-art facilities and continues to invest in infrastructure to support the growing business. Aircraft hangars at the 500,000 sqm facility cover approximately 66,000 sqm including 10,000 sqm of aircraft painting facilities and a custom designed hangar that can accommodate up to three A380 aircraft simultaneously. Around 140,000 sqm of aircraft parking area is also available for light checks and non-scheduled maintenance work.

Extensive cabin capabilities help Etihad Engineering’s customers deliver the highest levels of cabin standards to their passengers, while maximising operational efficiencies through the most cost efficient cabin configurations. Customers are offered a vast array of cabin maintenance, modification and repair possibilities for galleys, toilets, sidewalls, monuments, IFE, and plastic repairs in addition to the manufacture of all internal and external aircraft placards and decals, using the most advanced machinery and equipment.

Etihad Engineering has a proven track record of delivering world- class cabin standards on budget and on time to airlines around the world and has delivered complex multi-class cabin reconfiguration and overhaul projects on hundreds of narrow-body and wide-body aircraft, including the A380.

Complementing its robust airframe capabilities, Etihad Engineering is steadily increasing its component capabilities on various platforms in close collaboration with industry leaders to position itself as a Centre of Excellence for component maintenance and repair. Dedicated component shops located onsite are spread over 6,000 sqm, with test, repair and overhaul capability for more than 7,400 part numbers of Airbus and Boeing aircraft.

The Design, Engineering and Innovation team provides industry-leading design and certification solutions (EASA/ GCAA 21J), part production (EASA/GCAA 21G) and engineering support solutions (Part M, Part 145) to Etihad Airways and customers from all over the world. As a founding member of the Independent Aircraft Modifier Alliance (IAMA), the team has the knowledge and the capability to manage and deliver a diverse range of modification requirements.
