Italian-based regional jet manufacturer Superjet International is to open a final assembly plant at a newbuild facility at Al Ain in Abu Dhabi.
The move is part of a collaboration with collaboration with Mark AB Capital, a UAE based private equity company and with the support of the UAE Government to establish a state-of-the-art facility in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi and transfer specific know how and technologies. The UAE investors take 49% of the venture.
At an MoU signing it was confirmed that SuperJet International will establish its final assembly line in Al Ain for regional aircraft to be completed by mid-2025.
In parallel, it will set-up a new supply-chain for all aerostructure work packages in Italy and UAE, with the aim to be completed by 2026. In the first phase, the investment is evaluated at $200 million, with the creation of 450 highly skilled jobs.
